} | |||
Parameter 1 must be the proper English localized name of the state, see list of state regions for all state names. Be aware that some states use <code>’</code> in their names, this cannot be substituted with <code>'</code>. | |||
Parameter 2 can be either a list of state status types or a list of core countries.<br>For state status, the following terms can be used: | |||
* capital, claims, colony, incorporated, market capital, split state, treaty port, unincorporated | |||
** These can be combined in a comma-separated list, such as <code>incorporated,split state</code> | |||
** They will be displayed vertically by the related icon in the listed order. | |||
** Certain combinations should be avoided as redundant, namely: | |||
*** <code>capital,incorporated</code> | |||
*** <code>market capital,incorporated</code> | |||
*** <code>treaty port,unincorporated,split state</code> | |||
*** <code>colony,unincorporated,split state</code> | |||
For 'cores', list countries with their default name and capitalization (see countries), as a comma-separated list. If a state is the defined capital for a country, suffix the country's name with <code>_c</code>. For example, | |||
* <code>Nicaragua_c,Central America</code> | |||
The claims icon can be added to a core list also, but must be placed last in the comma-separated list. | |||
== Usage == | |||
This template must be used within a table. It fits into the standard state data table as follows: | |||
+ style="white-space: nowrap; text-align: left;" | Single region table | |||
rowspan=2 | Name !! rowspan=2 | Type !! rowspan=2 | Homelands <!-- !! rowspan=2 | Region --><!-- Add column for multi-region tables --> | |||

colspan=10 | Resources | |||
rowspan=2 | State Traits | |||
Size !! Uses | |||
wood !! coal !! iron !! lead !! sulfur !! fish !! whaling !! gold !! rubber !! oil | |||
<code>Template goes here</code> | |||
} | |||
+ style="white-space: nowrap; text-align: left;" | Multi-region table | |||
rowspan=2 | Name !! rowspan=2 | Type !! rowspan=2 | Homelands !! rowspan=2 | Region | |||
colspan=2 | Arable Land | |||
colspan=10 | Resources | |||
rowspan=2 | State Traits | |||
Size !! Uses | |||
wood !! coal !! iron !! lead !! sulfur !! fish !! whaling !! gold !! rubber !! oil | |||
<code>Template goes here</code> | |||
} | |||
Each state in the table requires its own use of the template in a new row. The number of columns generated by the template depends on the usage of the region parameter and how many resources are given to the third parameter. | |||

State is used to build state data tables for country pages. It pulls defined starting information from a database and formats it in a standard way.
Parameters
Parameter | Description | Required | Default |
---|---|---|---|
1 | English localized state name | Required | none |
2 | State info, a comma-separated list of either:

Optional | none |
3 | Comma-separated list of resources from the following terms

Optional | all resources |
Boolean parameters | set to true, yes, y, t, on or 1 to use; omit if unused |
---|---|
cores | sets parameter 2 to "core" type use |
region | display the state's region |
mc | Applies MultiColumn to ag building list

Parameter 1 must be the proper English localized name of the state, see list of state regions for all state names. Be aware that some states use ’
in their names, this cannot be substituted with '
.
Parameter 2 can be either a list of state status types or a list of core countries.
For state status, the following terms can be used:
- capital, claims, colony, incorporated, market capital, split state, treaty port, unincorporated
- These can be combined in a comma-separated list, such as
incorporated,split state
- They will be displayed vertically by the related icon in the listed order.
- Certain combinations should be avoided as redundant, namely:
capital,incorporated
market capital,incorporated
treaty port,unincorporated,split state
colony,unincorporated,split state
- These can be combined in a comma-separated list, such as
For 'cores', list countries with their default name and capitalization (see countries), as a comma-separated list. If a state is the defined capital for a country, suffix the country's name with _c
. For example,
Nicaragua_c,Central America
The claims icon can be added to a core list also, but must be placed last in the comma-separated list.
Usage
This template must be used within a table. It fits into the standard state data table as follows:

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Size | Uses | ||||||||||||||

Name | Type | Homelands | Region | Arable Land | Resources | State Traits | ||||||||||

Each state in the table requires its own use of the template in a new row. The number of columns generated by the template depends on the usage of the region parameter and how many resources are given to the third parameter.
