The Netherlands is a  major power in the Rhine region. It neighbors 汉诺威 and 普鲁士 to the east and 比利时 to the south. The Netherlands starts with two overseas states, Dutch Guyana in South America and Dutch Ghana in West Africa. The Netherlands rules over 卢森堡 in a  Personal Union and has the  Dominion of the 荷属东印度 in Indonesia. The Netherlands and Belgium start as mutual 0 rivalry rivals and have a  truce until August 1, 1836.

If it reconquers Belgium, it will be renamed United Netherlands.

Historical background

The Kingdom of the Netherlands was established in 1815 following the Napoleonic Wars and the Congress of Vienna. This was the first time that the entire Lowlands were united in a single country since the Eighty Years' War during the 16th - 17th centuries. The united state of the Netherlands continued until the Belgian Revolution in 1830, where 比利时 seceded from the union.

The Netherlands is in an awkward position. Despite its Major Power status, it is a military minnow; even Belgium poses a challenge for the Dutch to reclaim. Much of the Netherlands' power depends on its dominion, the Dutch East Indies, which is also more powerful than its master. Its junior Personal Union partner, Luxembourg, is isolated by Belgium and Prussia.

• Start by puppeting the minor countries in South-east Asia, which should be pushovers even for the militarily challenged Netherlands. The main danger is a Great Power (most commonly, Great Britain or France) interfering.
• Continue to puppet minors across the globe; remember to have at least one puppet per File:Declared interest.png declared interest so that the region becomes an  active interest, and thus freeing up the declared interest counter. Puppets' most immediate benefit to the Netherlands is to pay taxes.
• After the truce with Belgium is over, subdue Belgium by any means necessary. Once Belgium is fully mobilized, it can field a larger army than what the Netherlands can muster within Europe; the Netherlands can consider swaying a GP for assistance.
